Carl J. Vock

Carl J. Vock, 82, of Polo, passed away Friday, Aug. 8, 2014, at Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon. He was a lifetime Farmer in the Polo area.

Carl was born, April 7, 1932, in Sterling, the son of Carl P. and Margaret (Lauber) Vock. On Feb. 9, 1952, in Harmon, he was united in marriage to Anne Rock. Carl was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Polo, the Knights of Columbus, Polo Lions Club, Farm Bureau, Polo Food Pantry volunteer and was named Polo Citizen of the Year in 2013.

Survivors include wife Anne; daughter Joy (Paul) de Leon; sons Mike (Vicki), Dick (Judy), Dave (Janice), Ed (Zully), Jim (Laura), Matt (Becky) Vock.; sisters Marjorie Martin, Alice Reed and Esther Mullen; brother Robert Vock; 18 Grandchildren, 5 Great Grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Nicolas, brother John, sister Rita Kennay.

Mass of Christian Burial at 10: 30 a.m. Wednesday, (Aug. 13th) at St. Mary Church, in Polo, with the Rev. Joseph Naill, celebrant, officiating. Burial is at St. Mary Cemetery, Polo. Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday at the Polo Family Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in his name.
