Carl L. Stoner

Carl L. Stoner, 94, of Polo, passed away Friday, Sept. 12, 2014, at Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon.

Carl was born May 4, 1920, in Polo, the son of Arthur and Mabelle (Good) Stoner. On June 7, 1941, in Polo, he was united in marriage to Betty Roberts.
Carl was a longtime member of Polo United Methodist Church, now Faith United Methodist Church in Polo. He farmed for many years in the Polo area. Carl was a founding partner of Stoner Implement, also owned Stoner Real Estate for 42 years, and had a trenching company. In his retirement, Carl enjoyed playing cards with his friends at Edgewood Golf Course.

Survivors include his wife, Betty; three children, Carolyn Ballard of Salem, Jeff (Vicky) Stoner of Colorado, and Susan (Charles) Haisch of Polo; grandchildren, Stacy, Rachel, and Jay; and great-grandchildren, Shaye, Chris, and Jack.
He was preceded in death by an infant son; a brother, Merritt Stoner; and a sister, Maxine, in infancy.

A private service was held, with burial at Fairmount Cemetery in Polo.
