John B. Crumley

Johnny “John” B. Crumley, 72, of Polo, passed away Friday, May 18, 2018, at KSB Hospital surrounded by family.
John was born Feb.15, 1946 in Knoxville, TN, the son of William and Shirley (Spangler) Crumley.  On Feb. 21,1998, in Chicago, he was united in marriage to Patricia Jones-Dusenbury. He worked in transportation until retirement and then went to work for the Church of the Brethren in Polo as their custodian.

John enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.  He was very active in his church and church organization.  John volunteered with Brethren Volunteer Service, graduated from Bethany Seminary in Oak Brook, and was a missionary in Nigeria for over 4 years.

Survivors include wife Patricia; son Johnny Crumley and step-daughter JoAnne Dusenbury of Polo; daughters Karen Crumley of Tennessee and Julia Crumley of Colorado; sister Nell Elerding of California; brother Steve Crumley of Indiana.

He was preceded in death by Parents and sister Joy Crowley.

A memorial visitation will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the Polo Church of the Brethren, 401 S Congress, with a Celebration of Life beginning at 11:00 a.m.  Private burial will take place at a later date.  In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in his name.
