John R. Dyson

John R. Dyson, of Amboy, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2020, at his home with family by his side.

John was born October 19, 1942, in Freeport, the son of Bernard G. and Virgina (Mathews) Dyson. On August 24,1966, in Sterling, he was united in marriage to E. Louise Bell.

He worked in maintenance for Plews Edelmann in Dixon and later Wahl Clipper in Sterling until retirement.  John served in the US Army and was a member of the Open Bible Church in Polo and American Legion.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends but always had a special spot for his grandchildren.

Survivors include wife Louise; daughter Lynn McCoy of Amboy; sons Frank (Sandy) Schultheis of Texas and Jim (Vickie) Schultheis of Mt. Morris; 3 Sisters; 4 Brothers; grandchildren Kyle Bradley, Kira Gibble, Ryan Dyson, Jordan Dyson, Katie Lahman, Ciarra Nusbaum; 12 Great-Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter Tina Saxer; son Rick Dyson; twin sister in infantcy; brother Bernard Dyson Jr..

Visitation will be Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m at the Polo Family Funeral Home, 110 E. Dixon St. Polo.   Facial coverings and social distancing practices are expected. Graveside services will be immediately following at 11:00 a.m. at Fairmount Cemetery in Polo with Military Honors and Rev. Luke Schier to officiate.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Serenity Hospice and Home.
