Ronald “Ron” A. Forster died peacefully at his home on February 12, 2016 in Polo, Illinois at the age of 63.

Ron Forster is survived by his wife Nona Forster of Polo, Illinois, daughter Valerie Forster of Dixon, Illinois, son Augie Forster of Keokuk, Iowa, sisters Kathy (Gil) Schimmoler of Rockford, Illinois and Mary (Ric) Hanson of Malta, Illinois, brothers Mike (Betty) Forster of Greenville, North Carolina, Bruce (Bonnie) Forster of Dixon, Illinois, Roger Forster Baraboo, Wisconsin, and Ed (Brenda) Forster of Janesville, sister in-law Paulette Forster of Griffin, Georgia, his parents-in-law Jule (Barbara) DuBois, and numerous siblings-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends. Ronald Forster is preceded in death by parents James and Helen (Swingley) Forster, and brother John Forster.
Ron Forster was born on February 14, 1952 in DeKalb, Illinois to Helen and James. He graduated from DeKalb High School in 1970, and later attended University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign while serving in the National Guard. He had many jobs including pinball machine installer, X-ray tech on the Alaskan pipeline, the proprietor of the Winged Steer, and after moving to Polo, Illinois began working at Rigging Gear Sales.

A visitation is scheduled for Saturday, February 20 from 2 PM to 4 PM at Polo Family Funeral Home, 110 E. Dixon St, Polo. Ron graciously donated his body to science. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Ron’s life. A memorial has been established at the First State Bank Shannon-Polo for the Valerie Forster Special Needs Trust Fund.
