Richard A. Halfman, 72, of Forreston, passed away December 14, 2017, in Polo. Richard was born July 3, 1945, in Savanna, the son of Ruth E. (Goldring) Halfman. He was a truck driver-business agent for the Teamsters Local 722 until retirement. Richard enjoyed camping, fishing and riding his motorcycle back in the day. He also enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors includes sons Richard (Cindy) Halfman of Polo, Shawn (Beth) Halfman of Rockford; sisters Kathleen Frank of Forreston, Rosemary Wirth of Elgin, SC, Anita Fritz of Monroe Center; brother Kevan Halfman of Rockford; granddaughter Savana Halfman and step-granddaughters Aleetra and Zandrea .
He was preceded in death by his mother; brother John Halfman III.
Memorial visitation will be Tuesday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Polo Family Funeral Home, 110 E. Dixon St. with graveside services to follow at 11:30 a.m. at St. Wendelin Catholic Cemetery, Shannon.
At the request of the family cremation rites have been accorded.
