Steven A. Buskohl, 63, of Polo, passed away Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021, at Freeport Hospital.
Steve was born Oct. 19, 1957, in Dixon, the son of Robert and Veva (Hubbard) Buskohl. He married Donita Blanchard on August 31, 2018, in Oregon.
Steve proudly served in the US Army from 1975 to 2001 and for a period was the personal chef to Gen. Omar Bradley. He was a Recruiter and Food Service Specialist while in the service. After the military he went to work for Raynor Garage Door. Steve received many decorations from the Army including National Defense Service Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon and the Meritorious Service Medal. He had a passion for cooking for his family, friends and organizing family get togethers. Steve was loved and will be deeply missed.
Survivors include his wife Donita; daughters Amber (Jacob) Westfall of California, Tiffany (Dave) Noonan of Pennsylvania, stepdaughter Ashley Rinehart of Polo; son Brandon (Beccah) Buskohl of West Virginia, stepson Ryan Rinehart of Polo; sister Pam of Iowa; brother Tom (Marla) Buskohl of Polo; 9 Grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his Parents.
A celebration of his life will be at Saturday, Oct. 23, 2021 with military honors given at 12:00 p.m. in Fairmount Cemetery, Polo. After military honors the gathering will move to 512 S. Franklin Ave in Polo and conclude at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in his name.
