Willard “Bill” G. Meyer, 87, of Polo, passed away Thursday, April 21,2022, at KSB Hospital in Dixon.
Bill was born March 26, 1935, in Dakota, Illinois, the son of Harper and Gladys Meyer. On April 19, 1958, in Polo, he married Ms. Evelyn Shrader.
Bill worked with the Local 150 for over 40 years and farmed in Polo most all his life. He graduated from Polo High School and enjoyed watching the school football games and following all things Marco. Like clockwork Bill would be a fixture at the Hazelhurst sale or a local auction. Evelyn and Bill would travel south for the winter but always enjoyed coming back home. He loved his wife of 65 years, his children, grandchildren and great grandson.
Survivors include wife Evelyn; daughter Kim Meyer of Springfield, IL; son Jeff Meyer of Polo; brother Lowell Meyer of Rockford; grandchildren Scott (Kalissa Koester) Meyer and Colten (Christina Frey) Meyer; great grandson Noah .
He was preceded in death by his Parents and 7 Siblings.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 27, 2022, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Marks Lutheran Church in Polo with services following at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Fairmount Cemetery in Polo immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers a memorials may be directed to Polo Area Senior Center or St. Marks Lutheran Church.
