Michael “Mike” J. Naylon, 60, of Sterling, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2022, at his home surrounded by family.
Mike was born August 9, 1962, in Dixon, Illinois, the son of James Naylon and Judith (Temple) Norris. He worked for SGS in Dixon as a Engineering Manager. Outside of work, he spent time doing the things he valued the most: spending time with family, enjoying the outdoors, listening to music unreasonably loud, and cheering for the Bears. He was best known for his contagious laugh, sentimental heart, and the ongoing prank of switching identities with his twin brother, Mark.
Survivors include his mother Judith Norris of Polo; daughters: Ashley (Aaron) Murphy of Arvada, CO, Elyce (Fabio) Rodrigues of Madison, WI and Kristine (Conor) Bernhard of Dubuque, IA; son Beck Naylon of Ashland, OR; sister Cheryl (Keith) Baker of Dixon, sister-in-law Kelly Naylon; brothers Tim Naylon of Denver, CO and Mark (Sandra) Naylon of Greeenville IN; grandson Oliver Murphy; girlfriend Deb Moeller of Davenport, IA and her daughters Savannah and Reilly; step-mother Sue Naylon of San Tan Valley, AZ ; step-sisters Leanne (Chris) Rogers of San Tan Valley, AZ, Traci Berge of San Tan Valley, AZ, Kathy (Dennis) Danko of Utica, IL, Shelley (Chad) Hovey of Mackinaw, IL; step-brothers Thomas (Sarah) Frump of Sterling.
He was preceded in death by his father Jim; brothers Jeff and Terry Naylon; step-father Max Norris; step-brothers Ted and Tony Norris.
A visitation will be Friday, November 18, 2022, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Polo Family Funeral Home, 110 E. Dixon St., Polo. A celebration of life will follow on Saturday, November 19, 2022, from 1:00pm-4:00pm at The River’s Edge Experience, 103 S 1st St Oregon, IL 61061.
