Lyle I. Printz

Lyle I. Printz, 85, of Polo, passed away Friday, April 12, 2024, at his home surrounded by family.

Lyle was born, April 29, 1938, in Lanark, Illinois, the son of Rexford Sr. and Mabel (Krauss) Printz. On June 27, 1959 in Lanark, IL, he married Ms. Marcia Misiewicz. Together they celebrated 64 years of marriage and three beautiful daughters. Lyle worked for Case IH for over 45 years and farmed in the Polo, Brookville and Scioto Mills area north of Freeport. He was a member of Lions Club, Umpire for Girls Fastpitch Softball. .Lyle loved his family, his farm, his church and his dogs. He also enjoyed making a run to McDonalds for his favorite lunch. Lyle looked forward to planting and harvest season. He would often play tricks or pull a prank on his family and friends. If Lyle couldn’t remember your name you were called George and with his big hands he would greet you with a fist bump and a smile.

Survivors include loving wife Marcia; daughters Pam (Michael) Merry of Freeport, IL, Tammy (Jeffrey) Kelly of Dixon, IL and Kim Printz of Dixon, IL; brother Rexford Printz Jr. of Pecatonica, IL; sister-in-law Christine Printz of Polo, IL; seven grandchildren Ashley (Jim) Abate, Heather (Travis) Lutz, Jess (Cara) Merry, Justin (Lynsie) Merry, Samantha (Eric) Montagno, Joseph (Abbey) Kelly, Casey (Annalee) Kelly; 14 Great-Grandchildren plus 1 on the way.

He was preceded in death by Great-Grandchildren Nathaniel Jacob, Christopher Jacob, Matthew Jacob Lutz and Hadley Kelly; 5 Brothers.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at St. Marks Lutheran Church in Polo from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. The funeral service will be Thursday, April 18, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. also at St. Marks Lutheran Church in Polo with Rev. Scott Ralston Officiating. Burial will be immediately following at Lanark Cemetery in Lanark.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established St. Marks Lutheran Church, Polo, American Diabetes Association, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or Alzheimer’s Association.
