Marc Allen Sheer (Mark Alvin Schier), 69, passed away at his Daytona Beach, FL apartment and was found June 3, 2025.
Marc was born March 26, 1956, at Warmolts Clinic in Oregon, IL, the son of Gene and Millie (Long) Schier.
Marc attended Oregon schools and was a 1974 graduate of Oregon High School. Following graduation, he worked locally in radio at WIXN in Dixon and WRHL in Rochelle. In pursuit of his lifelong interest in music, he moved to the Nashville, Tennessee area.
Eventually, Marc moved to Florida where he managed several Domino’s pizza stores at various locations. In his later years, he worked as an airport shuttle driver and finally Door Dash delivery up until the time of his death.
Marc spent much of his time recording music in his apartment studio but perhaps he will best be remembered for his recent bookof personal memoirs entitled: Music City Farm Boy (Parker, CO: Outskirts Press, 2024). Marc’s book is a story of dreams, tragedy and days gone by.
Marc is preceded in death by his parents and infant brother, James Edward Schier. He is survived by three brothers: John of Wildhorse, CO, David of Oregon, IL, and Luke (Carrie) of Polo, IL and many nieces and nephews.
