Karen L. Mitchell, 66, of Polo passed away Monday, November 25, 2019, in Oregon, IL, at Serenity Hospice and Home after a brief battle with cancer.
She was born on January 7, 1953, to the late Harry C. Smith and Frances M. Morsch Smith. She graduated from Newton Falls High School in Newton Falls, OH, in 1971.
She worked as a CNA for Moffett Cancer Institute in Tampa, FL, and retired from Fresh Market in Pembroke Pines, FL, in 2018.
She is survived by daughter Veronica (Derek) Victor, County Wexford, Ireland; brother Ralph (Penny) Smith, Port Richey, FL; sister Anne (Joe) Kenney, Pembroke Pines, FL; brother Kevin (Beth) Smith, N Charleston, SC; four nephews Matt Smith, Jaeson Smith, Ryan Kenney, Drew Smith and one niece Juli (PJ) Wilt. Karen was proceeded in death by brother Paul Smith.
The family requests to celebrate Karen’s life with donations to Serenity Hospice and Home (1658 S. IL Route 2, Oregon, IL 61061) in her name.
