Elinor “Kay” Merdian, 72, of Polo, died Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, at Serenity Hospice and Home, Oregon. She worked at Kable News, Mt. Morris, for over 20 years and most recently for Walmart, Dixon.
Kay was born Nov. 5, 1941, in Walnut, IL, the daughter of Robert and Grace (Tornow) Merdian.
Survivors include her mother Grace; one son, Mark (Tamela) Merdian of Polo; brother, Neil (Christa) Merdian of Polo; two sisters, Carol (“Buck”) Walter of Naperville and Sharon (Robin) Colglazier of Dixon; a grandson Nate Merdian.
She was preceded in death by her father; three brothers, Robert, Larry and Rick Merdian.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Polo Family Funeral Home, 110 E. Dixon Street, Polo with Rev. Monte Cox officiating. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established. Private burial will be held at a later date.
