Jacob “Jake” L. Ramp, 95, of Polo, went to be with his Savior on Friday, December 4, 2015 at Arden Courts Memory Care Center in Geneva, IL.
He was born March 21,1920, in Brownstown, IN, the son of Frank and Ada (McMahon) Ramp. On November 20, 1941 in Seymour, IN, he was united in marriage to Bertha Mae Rucker, they were married for 70 years till her passing in April of 2012. Jake was a veteran of the United States Army serving in WWII and went on to own Ramp Quality Egg Farm from 1949 to 1963.
Survivors include sons Justin ( Mary) Ramp, Alvon (Jeryl) Ramp, Meredith (Linda) Ramp, Erich (Nancy) Ramp; 2 brothers Keith and Joseph Ramp; 12 Grandchildren, 22 Great Grandchildren, 2 Great-Great Grandchildren
Jake was preceded in death by 2 Sisters, 3 Brothers and grandson Jay Robert Ramp
Visitation will be held at Polo Family Funeral Home 110 E. Dixon St., Polo, on Friday Dec. 11, 2015 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Services will be 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015, at Polo Family Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Gehlbach, Retired, officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery, Polo.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Music Department of the Faith United Methodist Church, Polo.
