Julie M. Meiners, 58, passed away Saturday, Sept. 5, 2020 at her home surrounded by family.
Julie was born June 24, 1962 at CGH Hospital, Sterling, Illinois to Elmer and Linda Meiners, of Sterling.
Julie was a 1980 graduate of Polo Community High School and studied at Sauk Valley Community College thereafter.
She was formerly employed by P.N.C. and Polo Rehab & Health Center. She had a love for nature, animals, her church and photography.
Julie’s pastime was spent at the “Bike Trail” outside of Polo. Family was very important to her, especially her ” Whooty.” (Annalise). She was a member of Crossroads Community Church, Polo Campus.
Survivors include: Brother Don (Gina) Brown, East Peoria, Sisters: Shari (Dennis) Jenkins, Twin sister, Jana Pierce and Sara (Paul) Shenefelt, all of Polo. Many nieces and nephews, her “Other Mother,” Dorene “Dreenie” Corbin, Polo. Special friends, Kerry Thomason, Nicki Bradshaw, Cindy Munson, Jeannie Jo Kyker, Lisa Clay and many more.
Julie was preceded in death by her father, Elmer and mother, Linda Perrine; special little girl Vanaca Jo Plante (Jeannie Jo’s daughter); grandmother Helen Lehman.
Special “Thank you!” to the wonderful staff of Serenity Hospice, Oregon IL that showed genuine care and empathy to Julie and her family.
A visitation will be Monday from 10:00 a.m to start of service time at 11:00 a.m. at Crossroads Community Church in Polo. Following the service burial will take place at Fairmount Cemetery.
Polo Family Funeral Home handled arrangement.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in her name.
