Shirley J. Clayton, 74, of Polo, passed away Saturday, January, 2, 2016, at KSB Hospital in Dixon. She was born March 1, 1941, in Dixon, the daughter of John W. and Catherine Scott. Shirley was a homemaker and member of the St. Marks Lutheran Church, Polo. On April 9, 1961 in Polo, she was united in marriage to William Clayton (he preceded her on Sept. 2, 2012).
Survivors include son Troy (Adrienne) Clayton of Mt. Morris; daughter-in-law Linda Clayton of Dixon; sister Vickie (Butch) Hunt of Polo; brother Steve Kramer of Rockford; grandchildren Tanner and Tonya Clayton; great grandchildren Blake, Lilly and Baron Ackerman.
Shirley was preceded in death by her son Tim Clayton, sisters Joanne Smith and Karen Scholl.
A memorial visitation will be held Thursday, January 7, 2016 from 4:00-6:00 p.m., at the Polo Family Funeral Home, 110 E. Dixon St., Polo. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. Marks Lutheran Church, Polo.
