Betty Jane O’Brien, 86, of Freeport, passed away Monday, January 11, 2016, at Franklin Grove Nursing Home. She worked many years as an attendant for a local laundry mat in Freeport. Betty was born Dec. 4, 1929, in Freeport, the daughter of Oliver and Gladys (Saxby) Piefer. She was united in marriage to Lee O’Brien until his passing in 1996.
Survivors include sisters Lois DeGarmo of Freeport, Darlene (Robert) Toms Sr. of Dixon, Rosemary Craig of Polo, step-sister Grace Plowman of Freeport; step-brother John (Karen) Klinger of Belvidere; several Nieces and Nephews.
She was preceded in death by, brother-in-laws Donald Craig and Marvin DeGarmo, step-brother Harm Klinger Jr.
Honoring Betty’s wishes cremation rites have been accorded with private services.
