Donald E. Bruce, 69, of Polo, passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at Serenity Hospice and Home.
Don was born on March 18, 1947, in Princeton, the son of Elliott R. and Grace (Krieger) Bruce. On September 26, 1970, in Ashton, he was united in marriage to Jane Zeller.
He grew up in Walnut, was a Senior Claims Examiner for General Casualty Ins/QBE. for 42 years. Don was a dedicated husband and father, he enjoyed gardening, hunting, shooting, antiques and play cards, euchre was his game of choice.
Survivors include wife Jane; daughters Amy McQuality of Dixon, Christie (Layne) Pitzer of Hudson, WI , Lori (David) Kuhfahl of Dundee; 6 grandchildren Elyssa, Michaela and Jacob McQuality, Tori and Ethan Pitzer, Luke Kuhfahl. Don was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 11, 2016 at Polo Family Funeral Home, 110 E. Dixon St., until service time at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Fairmount Cemetery, Polo, immediately following services.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Serenity Hospice and Home, Oregon, the Don Bruce Memorial.
