Micheal “Burner” E. Grant, 67, of Jarrell, TX, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2016, at his home. He was born Jan. 17, 1949, in Dixon, IL, the son of Harold Junior and Beatrice (Rinard) Grant. Burner graduated from Lanark High School in 1967. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lanark and worked for Jerry Grove in Cement Construction since the age of 16 until moving to Texas in 1985. Burner owned and operated Speedway Inn, Jarrell, TX for 18 years. He enjoyed watching his western movies, the Dallas Cowboys playing football and following the Chicago Cubs. Burner loved his family and visiting with his customers, he never met a stranger he didn’t like.
Survivors include daughter Jill (Wendell Ebersole) Queckborner of Chadwick; sons Martin (Lucy) E. Grant of Byron, Paul Grant of Milledgeville; sisters Linda Grant of Freeport, Cindy (Shelvan) Heid of McConnell, IL; brothers Edward Grant of Lanark, Kenneth (Ardena) Grant of Lanark; grandchildren Jacob and Courtney Queckborner, Tyler and Brett Grant; great granddaughter BryLee Queckborner.
He was preceded in death by parents; many Aunts and Uncles.
