Lois E. Voss, 88, of Polo, passed away Friday, Dec. 16, 2016, at Polo Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. Lois was born Feb. 18, 1928, in Rockfalls, the daughter of Ernest C. and L. Irene (Higley) Gilman. On June 7, 1947, she was united in marriage to Harland J. Voss (he preceded her on Dec. 12, 1987).
Lois worked as a dental assistant for Lyons Dental in Sterling for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and dog Rebel. She enjoyed attending church when able and baking.
Survivors include daughters Jane (Roger) Palmer of Polo, Carolyn (Ron) Morse of Gasden, AL; son-in-law Carroll (Sherry) Haijenga of Forreston; 10 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren, 2 Great-Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter Darla Haijenga, one great grandchild, brother Dean Gilman and sister Laura Jeanette Gilman.
Visitation will be held on Monday, Dec. 19, 2016 from 10:00 AM till service time of 11:00 AM at the Polo Family Funeral Home, 110 E. Dixon St. Burial will be at Fairmount Cemetery immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
