Arlyn E. Bryson, age 81, of Polo, passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2017, surrounded by his loving family.

Arlyn was born June 15, 1935 to Winthep (Ben) Ellery and Helen Schilling Bryson in Sterling, Illinois.  He married Phyllis Wolf Bryson on September 24, 1954, at the Milledgeville Brethren Church.

Arlyn was engaged in agriculture related businesses throughout his life including Bryson Trucking Company, Shannon Stockyards and Bryson Livestock all related to the cattle business and farming.  One of Mr. Bryson’s greatest interests was horses and traveling many miles with his wife and children showing quarter horses.

Arlyn served his community as a Volunteer Fireman on the Polo Fire Department, was a good-fellow of the Patrick Fegan Post#83 American Legion in Polo, and was baptized and a member of the Milledgeville Brethren Church.

Arlyn is survived by his wife of 62 years, daughter Donna Crow, Milford, Illinois, Lenny (Becky) Bryson, Polo, Gail (Brian) Schroeder of Madison, Wisconsin.  Grandchildren who survive are Travis Crow of Cissna Park, Illinois, Molly (Tony) Crow Gorup of Raymond, IL, Suzanne Bryson of Peoria, Arizona and Lance Bryson of Aubrey, Texas and also Megan, Morgan and Wyatt Patterson.  Arlyn had four great grandsons, Bryson Crow, Acelin, Atticus and Archer Gorup.  He is survived by one brother, Leland (Ruth) Bryson of Milledgeville, one brother-in-law, Donald (Donna) Wolf of Polo. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins.

Mr. Bryson was predeceased by his parents, his in-laws Elwin Wolf, Helen Fairy Wolf Jones and Richard Jones, son-in-law Randy Crow, one brother and sister- in-law Donald and Phyllis Iler, one sister and brother-in-law Marie and George Baylor, sister-in-law Shelba Wolf and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jerry (Marlene) Wolf.

A private graveside service with family and friends will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 17, 2017 at Fairmount Cemetery in Polo with Pastor Terrie Wilder officiating.

Memorials may be made to the Polo Fire Protection District and Ambulance or the donor’s choice.
