Barbara A. Bowen, 89, of Polo, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2021, at Pinecrest Manor in Mt. Morris.
Barbara was born Feb. 22, 1932, in Beloit, WI, the daughter of Emmons and Mildred Knudson. On November 22, 1950, in Polo, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Bowen. Barb was a member of St. Marks Lutheran Church in Polo and taught kids golf at Edgewood Golf Course. She enjoyed playing cards, watching the Chicago Bears and Chicago White Sox games. Barb retired from Polo Community School District after years of bus driving.
Survivors include her grandchildren Chris, Shawn, Shane, Matt, Shane and Crystal Lee; many nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her husband Kenny; son Milton “Pete”; 4 brothers Pete, Jim, Bob and Norm; 3 sisters Marge, Gail “Buzz” and Jean.
Graveside services will be held at Fairmount Cemetery, in Polo, on June 11, 2021 at 11:00 a.m.
