Bernice A. McPhillips

Bernice A. McPhillips, of Brookville, passed away Friday, November 11, 2022, at KSB Hospital in Dixon.

Bernice was born August 23, 1954, in Dixon, Illinois, the daughter of Harry and Evelyn Shafer. On March 17, 1990 in Brookville, she married Robert McPhillips. She worked at Rolling Hills in Lanark for a time and then went to work at PNC in Polo until her retirement.

Bernice was a collector of all things. She enjoyed spending time with her grandson Riley, cooking or baking for her family pulling out recipes from her many cookbooks. Bernice was the first to wish a happy birthday and if you didn’t remember your own she remembered for you.

Survivors include husband Robert; daughter Tracy (Richard) Krebs of Lanark; son Cory McPhillips of Polo; step-daughters Amy Bell, Dana Dunivan, Tanya Mitchell, Misty Linstrom, Joni Beyer; Sister Linda (Jerry) Martz of Byron; grandson Riley McPhillips and numerous step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter and step-daughter Pam McPhillips.

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 16, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m at the Brookville United Methodist Church, 17725 W Chambers St, Polo. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. following visitation also at the church with burial in Brookville United Methodist Church Cemetery rural Polo.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established her name.
