Betty M. Swanson, 86, of Polo, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2022, at Polo Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.
Betty was born December 16, 1935, at her home in Polo, the daughter of Arthur and Helen (Wales) Swanson. Betty attended and graduated from Polo High School in 1953. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church until its closing. She worked for 3-B Kennel Farm in Polo, Watt Publishing in Mt. Morris and retired from Rockford Register Star in 2001 after 40 years. Betty was a dance roller skater for several years, enjoyed collecting recipes, cookbooks and loved poetry.
Survivors include her cousins Helen Wales, Joyce Person and Evelyn Bowman all of Polo.
She is preceded by her Parents, Cousins and special friend Ed Ruther.
Honoring Betty’s wishes cremation rites have been accorded and no services will be held.
