Bonnie C. Volz, 64, of Loves Park, passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at her home.
Bonnie was born September 8, 1959, in Dixon, Illinois, the daughter of Everett “Turk” and Joanne (Plowman) Grant. She married John Volz on July 26, 1980 in Polo. Bonnie graduated from Polo High School in 1977 where she was also a Majorette. She found great joy in the beauty of the outdoors. She loved riding ATVs, camping and boating with family and friends, bicycling and hiking. Bonnie adored the many pets who were lucky enough to be apart of her family over the years, including most recently her cats Buddy and Socks. Bonnie was an ardent fan of the Milwaukee Brewers and loved attending games at American Family Field. Her nursing career took her to many places, which led to her being well versed in areas ranging from oncology to mental health to caring for individuals with AIDS at the height of the 1980s epidemic.
Survivors include her husband and son, Jacob, of Loves Park; her mother of Byron; three sisters, Vicki (Jim) Schultheis of Mt. Morris, Sally (Mark) Douglas of Coleta, and Patricia Schaefer of Leaf River; one brother, Don Grant of Hayward, WI; brother- and sister-in-law Jeff and Jeanne Kuhn of Dixon; and loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends
She was preceded in death by her father; her sister, Connie Stahler; her mother-in-law, Marietta Volz; and her father-in-law, Vernon Volz
Visitation will be Thursday, September 28, 2023 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Polo Family Funeral Home, 110 E. Dixon St., Polo. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 29, 2023, at St. Marks Lutheran Church, 201 N. Division Ave, Polo. Burial will be following services at Fairmount Cemetery, Polo.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established In her name.
