Bradley J. Ferris, 82, of Franklin Grove (formerly of Harmon), passed away Saturday, March 7, 2015, at his home in Franklin Grove with his family by his side. Brad was born March 1, 1933, in Dixon, the son of Marie (Jones) Gray. On June 19, 1954 in Sterling, he was united in marriage to Lois Wagner (she preceded him in January of 2007). Bradley was a veteran of the United States Army and retired after 37 years as Crane Operator for Northwestern Steel and Wire in Sterling.
Survivors include children Connie (Deb Wolfram) Ferris, Terry (Karla) Ferris, Debbie (Michael) Clark, Tammy (Scott) Strub, Sandie (Nicole Casamassa) Brown; grandchildren Christie (Marty) Cox, Stepheni (Troy) Chandler, Tiffany (Nathan) Hummel, Brad (Jennifer) Ferris, Tracy (Dallas) Greenwalt, Cliff (Knosh) O’Keefe, Teresa (Justin) Woolsey, David Woolsey, Shane Strub, Nick Garman, Brookelyn Strub, Kathrine McCard, Elaina Brown; 20 great-grandchildren; sisters Kay Reyes and Shirley Monteith; and very special friend Connie Blum.
Brad was preceded by brothers John, Jesse and Jim Vernich.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Polo Family Funeral Home, 110 E. Dixon St., Polo. Celebration of the Mass Of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Flannen Catholic Church, 213 S. 2nd St., Harmon. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, Harmon.
