Charles “Charlie” R. Poper Sr., 82, of Polo, passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at his home surrounded by family.
Charlie was born, October 24, 1942, in Dekalb, IL, the son of Richard W. and Shirley A. (Clausen) Poper. On November 2, 1968 in Polo, he married Ms. Linda Reed. Charlie was a veteran of the US Army and retired from Woods Equipment in Oregon, IL after over 38 years. He loved his family dearly and his granddaughter Lindee was the light of his life. Charlie enjoyed watching the Chicago Bears, playing golf, making and regripping golf clubs or playing cards with his friends.
Survivors include his wife Linda; son Charles (Lisa Cassens) Poper Jr. of Polo, IL; granddaughter Lindee Poper of Polo, IL; sisters Shirley Kay Miller of Oregon, IL and Janis Poper of Tampa, FL; Nieces and Nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister Ann Lansing and brother John Poper.
At the families request cremation rites have been accorded.
