Charles “Chuck” William Parks passed away peacefully in his home in the early morning of May 12, 2021.
Chuck was born in Dixon on September 24, 1936 to John and Pauline Parks. He served our country in the army during the Korean War as well as his community with his plumbing expertise for 47 years. Known to his family as “Poppie”, Chuck was a devoted family man, enjoyed playing cards, reading Western novels, traveling to Florida, and spending time with friends.
Chuck is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Lois; his son Leonard (Pam) Parks; daughter Paula (Bob Venier) Tegeler; grandchildren Virgil Kyle (Lindsay) Tegeler, Daniel “Boone” Tegeler, Austin (Shelby) Parks, Shaun Parks, and Audrey (Josh Sodaro) Parks; and great-grandchildren Audrin, Rowyn, Lydia, Charles, Jemma, Riley, and River.
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Pauline Parks.
Private funeral services will be held at St Marks Lutheran Church in Polo with a military send-off burial to follow at Oak Knoll Cemetery in Sterling.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Chuck’s name to St. Marks Lutheran Church in Polo. Chuck will be deeply missed by his family.
