Charles D. Weller, 89, of Mt. Morris, passed away Friday March, 31, 2017 at Pinecrest Manor, Mt. Morris. Charles was born August 2, 1927, in Dixon, the son of John and Mary (Murphy) Weller. On July 7, 1972 in Polo, he was united in marriage to his loving wife Pauline. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a longtime member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Polo. He, along with brother John, farmed in rural Polo and Mt. Morris his entire life. Charles had such a love for the farm and the animals on it, he enjoyed sharing it with his grandchildren and giving rides on his tractors.
Survivors include his wife of almost 45 years Pauline; daughter Cynthia (Jim) Chapman of Monroe, WI; son Bradley (Chris) Weller of Mt. Morris; sister Mary Weller of Mt. Morris; brother John Weller of Mt. Morris; granddaughter Jessica Weller of Chicago; grandsons Daniel Chapman of Monroe, WI and Adam Weller of Mt. Morris.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 6, 2017 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Polo Family Funeral Home, 110 E. Dixon St. Services will continue to St. Mary Catholic Church, 211 N. Franklin Ave, Polo, for an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Joseph P. Naill, officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Polo.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Pinecrest Manor , 500 Evergreen Ln #125, Mt. Morris, IL 61054.
