Donald W. (Donnie) Rinard, 57, of Rockfalls (formerly of Polo), passed away Tuesday April 28, 2015 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, Peoria with family by his side.
He was born February 20, 1958, the son of Robert and Forrest Rinard (both have preceded him in death). He graduated from Polo Community High School in 1975. Donnie was working and living in Sterling Illinois at the time of his death. While work and life may have taken him to other areas, his heart always carried him back to Polo, where his life with his parents had been.
Donnie enjoyed his family, fishing, singing karaoke, country music, dancing, sharing mushrooms and raspberries that he had hunted and freshly picked.
He served his country from 1978-1981 and proud to talk to the youth about what a great country America is.
He believed in Organ Donation and we are proud to say he donated his organs upon his death to give life and hope to other families at a time of need.
He treasured all friendships, and was a loyal friend and treated his friends as family.
He was a member of the St. Mark Lutheran Church in Polo, IL. Where he was very active in a variety of activities including the church council. He especially enjoyed being Usher for his church.
Survivors include his son Nathan Allan Rinard of Amboy; Life Partner, Mary Loy of Sterling, Illinois; Great Aunt, Darlene Jacobs of Sterling, IL and several cousins.
He was also preceded in death by his Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles and his Step-Father John W. Harris.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at the St. Marks Lutheran Church, 201 N. Division Ave., Polo, from 9:30-11:00 a.m., services will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Fairmount Cemetery, Polo, immediately following the funeral service.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to Gift Of Hope, Son Nathan Rinard – College Fund, and St. Marks Lutheran Church.
