Doreen “Lisa” E. Hewes, 73, of Polo, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2020, at KSB Hospital in Dixon.
Lisa was born September 27, 1946, in Freeport, the daughter of Fred and Mary (Robinson) Smith. On Dec. 27, 1969 in Polo, she was united in marriage to Richard Hewes. She and Richard had just celebrated 50 years of marriage. Lisa enjoyed traveling, quilting and gardening. Sitting with a good book, painting or spending time camping with the family was a highlight of many memories.
Survivors include husband Richard; son Christopher Hewes of Polo; sisters Karen (Bob) Young of Haldane and Denise Mon of Freeport; brothers Tim (Diana) Smith of Bartlett, IL and Kevin (Deb) Smith of Haldane; many Nieces and Nephews.
She was preceded in death by her Parents and sister Angie Brown.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at the Polo Family Funeral Home, 110 E. Dixon St. Polo. Visitation will be just prior to the service at 9:30 a.m. till start of services at 10:30 a.m. also at the funeral home. Burial will be immediately following at Haldane Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed in her name.
