Dorothy G. Coffman, 95, of Polo, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2023, at Polo Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.
Dorothy was born, November 30, 1927, in Brooklyn, IL, the daughter of Frank and Grace (Gigous) Vincent. Dorothy attended Benardin Grade School in near West Brooklyn, IL. She graduated from Lee Center Community High School in Lee Center, IL in 1945. On November 10, 1948 in Champaign, IL, she was united in marriage to Harold L. Coffman of Polo. Dorothy enjoyed playing cards, quilting and baking. She was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church and the Polo Senior Center. Dorothy said, “I believe that all that I am and all that I have comes from God, I am very thankful everyday.”
Survivors include son Alan Coffman of Polo; grandsons James (Shannon) Coffman and Aaron Coffman; great grandsons Matthew and Carson Coffman.
She was preceded in death by husband Harold; brother Raymond Vincent, sisters Norma L. Owen and Shirley Carlson; nephew Craig Owen.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at Polo Family Funeral Home, 110 E. Dixon St, Polo. Burial will be at Fairmount Cemetery in Polo following the service. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, one hour prior to the service, at Polo Family Funeral Home.
