Polo – Emerson “Butch” Garman Jr, 76, of Polo, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at Polo Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.
Butch was born September 28, 1940, in Forreston, the son of Emerson and Hazel (Johann) Garman Sr. He worked construction with the Laborer Union 727 out of Dixon. Butch enjoyed spending time with his family and playing or cutting up with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a huge football fan especially when it came to the Chicago Bears (Da Bears!), watching NASCAR and putting model cars together.
Survivors include daughters Kathy (Rex) Blomberg of Freeport and Sharon (Kevin) Remrey of Mt. Morris; sons Roderick Garman of Dixon, Randy (Jennifer) Garman of Polo; sisters Diana (Joe) Lyberger of Mt. Morris, Shirley Moore of Freeport, Sandra (Bill) Moon of Mt. Morris; 9 grandchildren Bret (Jen), Brook and Brittney Ellinor, Kyle Remrey, Natalie (Brad), Hannah (Dusty) and Nicholas Garman, Keegan and Shaylie Garman; 10 Great Grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Clarence “Buzz” Garman and a brother Tony at birth.
Visitation will be Monday, January 23, 2017 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Polo Family Funeral Home, 110 E. Dixon St., Polo. Services will begin at 11:00 immediately following visitation with burial at Fairmount Cemetery at the conclusion of the service.
Family would like to extend a special thank-you to Dr. H. OH with the CGH Clinic in Polo.
In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established in his name.
