Florence E. Terhune, 92, of Lanark, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2015, at Polo Rehab and Healthcare Center. She was a homemaker and member of the former Polo Presbyterian Church with recognition of over 50 years of service and dedication to her church. Florence also served for many years as a volunteer election inspector.
Florence was born Jan. 30, 1923, in Woosung Twp, the daughter of Jay P. Wilson and Maggie (Gilbert) Wilson. On June 7, 1947, in Polo, she was united in marriage to Maurice Terhune (he preceded her in November of 2011).
Survivors include daughter Mary (Dean) Borsic of Gurnee, IL; son Larry Terhune of Saginaw, TX; grandsons Christopher Terhune and John (Brandy) Borsic.
She was preceded in death by her sister Margaret Unger.
Visitation will be held Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., at the Polo Family Funeral Home, 110 E. Dixon St., with services at 10:30. Burial will be at Fairmount Cemetery, Polo, immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to any of our local food pantry’s.
