Forrest M. Rinard-Harris, 79, of Mt. Morris (formerly of Polo), passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at Serenity Hospice and Home, Oregon with family by her side.
She was born, July 5, 1934, in Guthrie Center, IA, the daughter of Forest and Georgia (Euers) Compton. Forrest was married to her first husband Robert Rinard for 35 years then to her second husband John H. Harris for 20 years (both have preceded her in death). She graduated from Dixon High School class of 1952. Forrest worked for the Department of Mental Health in Dixon for many years. In her retirement she spent most of her time volunteering for many organizations such as Ogle County Hospice, Second Hand Rose, St. Marks Lutheran Church, Polo Senior Center and Polo United Methodist Church.
Survivors include son Donald Rinard of Polo; brother David Compton of Tacoma, WA; 1 Grandson Nathan Allan Rinard; Several nieces and nephews and Aunt Darlene Rinard Jacobs.
She was preceded in death by a brother William “Billy” Compton.
Visitation will be Monday, July 7th, at the Polo Family Funeral Home from 4 to 6 p.m. Funeral services to be held Tuesday, July 8th, at the St. Marks Lutheran Church, 201 N. Division Ave, Polo at 10 a.m. with burial following at Fairmount Cemetery, Polo.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to St. Marks Lutheran Church and Serenity Hospice and Home.
