Genevieve “Picky” L. Horton, 79 of Polo, passed away Saturday June 15, 2019 at KSB Hospital in Dixon.
Picky was born August 31, 1939, in Polo, the daughter of Jack and Ruth (Horton) Ludwick. On July 15, 1959 in Oregon, she was united in marriage to Harlem Horton. Picky worked for Central Stamping in Polo for many years until their closing. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW in Polo, Polo Senior Center and the Coffee Club at the Polo Rehabilitation. Picky and her husband donated bikes to the Senior Center every year at Christmas and sent necessities to soldiers overseas trying to make a small difference in anyway they could. She also enjoyed spending time with family, friends and of course watching the Cubs play.
Survivors include husband Harlem; daughters Margaret (Bob) Bowers of Forreston and Lucie (Joe) Vest of Carlinville, IL ; sons Harlem B. (LeAnne) Horton of Milledgeville, Howard (Marci) Horton of Milledgeville; 7 Sisters and 3 Brothers; 16 Grandchildren and 17 Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son Harold; 2 Sisters and 2 Brothers.
A celebration of her life will be Wednesday, June 19, 2019, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Polo Family Funeral Home, 110 E. Dixon St.
