Gerald E. Woodin, 85, of Polo, passed away Friday, Feb. 9, 2018, at Serenity Hospice and Home.
Gerald was born May 9, 1932, in Polo, the son of Rex and Ola (Bellows) Woodin. On September 23, 1951, in Milledgeville, he was united in marriage to Ethel Chandler. Ethel preceded him in death on March 19, 2015. Gerald worked at the Gulf Station in Polo for many years then went to work for Northern Illinois Harvester until retirement. In his spare time you would find Gerald fishing, woodworking or enjoying ballroom dancing with his wife Ethel.
Survivors include daughters Sally (Wayne) Stauffer of Polo and Sherri (Jerry) Michalak of Freeport; son Gary Lee (Kathy) Woodin of Lake of the Hills, IL; sisters Bernice Riddle of Polo and Beverly Brown of Columbus, IN; brothers Harold (Lucille) Woodin of Polo, Archie Woodin of Milledgeville, Paul (Shirley) Woodin Milan, IL; 7 Grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren
He was preceded in death by two sisters Geneva and Ardela; brother Dewayne.
A private burial will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Dixon, next to his loving wife.
At the request of his family cremation rites will be accorded.
