Gregg A. Downs, 69, of Polo went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 02, 2022.
Gregg never wanted a formal obituary, he never felt that what he did in life was formal he just lived the best life he could. He always hoped his good far out weighted the mistakes he made and often said “I made mistakes, as we all do”. He had a great love for his family and attended every event he could for his children and grandchildren.
Gregg hoped his love for God would show through to his family, many friends and those he met along the way. He loved to laugh and was always ready to tease then give a small smirk after. Gregg had a love for music and enjoyed a good variety. Friends from his days in Duluth, MN knew and shared this love. He enjoyed watching his University of Minnesota Bulldog Hockey and his beloved Cubs.
Faith was always renewed following the many church conferences he and wife Sue would attend. Traveling to these conferences or travel anywhere he and Sue always enjoyed. His goal in life was to provide love, support and encouragement to all he met. He always hoped to be remembered for this, to think of him and smile or pass that same kindness on to others.
He will be missed by his wife of 49 years Susan, children Melissa (Keith Hertnzer) Downs-Horton, Christina (Jeffrey) Morris and Roger Downs; grandchildren Kelsey, Kaiyle and Emmett Horton and Nathan Morris.
A celebration of his life will be Saturday, May 14, 2022 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m at the Polo Church of the Brethren, 401 S. Congress Ave. Polo. Coffee and refreshments will be served. At the request of Gregg this is not a formal affair just come as you are.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon.
