Helen M. Ports, 92, of Polo, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2014, at CGH Medical Center. She worked at Polo National Bank for 31 years starting as a bank teller and working her way up to vice president.
Helen was a devoted lifetime member of the Faith United Methodist Church, Polo (formerly Emmanuel United Methodist Church) and a member of the United Methodist Women. She loved her family, friends and community.
Helen was born May 21,1921, in Polo, the daughter of Roy C. and Clara (Roesch) Ports.
Survivors include brother R. Eldon Ports of Polo; nephew James Ports; great niece Rachel Ports, great nephews Sean (Ainslely) and Derek Ports.
She was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law William (Marlene) Ports, niece Pam Ports and special friend Raymond Rhodes.
A memorial service will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Faith United Methodist Church, Polo.
In lieu of flowers a memorial(s) have been established in her name. At Helens request, her body was donated to science.
