Helen V. Naden, 98, of Polo, passed away Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015, at Polo Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
Helen was born, April 6,1916, in Polo, the daughter of George and Marjorie (Shank) Powell. She married Russell Naden, in Yorkville, where she owned a small business and in her later years became a homemaker. Helen enjoyed playing the organ and giving lessons. She enjoyed spending the summers with her husband at their cabin in Boulder Junction, WI. Helen was a beautiful seamstress, collecting antiques, painting, quilting and her love for animals all were a great passion in her life.
Survivors include nephews Robert“Pat”Powell, Marco“Mike”Powell; many great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Russell, sister Reta Riggs, brothers Clifford “Pete” Powell, nephews Clifford Powell Jr., David “Digger” Powell, niece Lamar Leggett .
Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m., just prior to the service, on Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at Polo Family Funeral Home, 110 E. Dixon St., Polo. An 11:00 a.m. graveside service will follow at Fairmount Cemetery, Polo.
