James “Jim” R. Williams, 71, of Polo, passed away Friday December 2, 2016, at St. Anthony’s Medical Center, Rockford. Jim was born May 20, 1945 in Dodge City, KS, the son of Carl D. Sr. and Amelia Frances (Palmer) Williams . On Nov. 11, 1978 in Moline, IL, he was united in marriage to Karen Warren. Jim was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving two tours in Vietnam. He was a Deputy Sheriff in Pettis Co. MO, retiring in 2007. He loved his family very much and extended kindness to those in need.
Survivors include his wife Karen; daughters Sarah, Kaitlyn, Matyson and Emileigh Williams all of Polo; sons Jacob (Tina) Williams of Tipton, MO, Isaiah, Noah, Quincy, Hauer Williams all of Polo; sister Lois Havens of Riverside, CA; brother Carl “Butch” (Marilyn) Williams Jr. of Kansas City, MO; grandchildren Jacob, Matthew, Quentin and Layla Williams of Tipton, MO.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A gathering of friends and family will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2016 from 4:00-6:00 PM at their home, 607 W. Mason St., Polo, IL 61064.
