Polo – John J. Hackett, 89, of Polo, passed away Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017, at Polo Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.
John was born Jan. 6, 1928, in Faribault, MN, the son of John and Christine Hackett. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. John worked for Imeco in Polo for over 20 years prior to their closing. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan.
Survivors include daughter Jackie (Larry) Bott of Shannon; step-daughters Charlotte Heavener of Polo and Debbie Wadsworth of Rockford; sister Mary Hackett of Florida; brother Leo Hackett of Faribault, MN; many Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by first wife Rita and his second wife Yvone Doeden; brothers George, Joe, Pat and Francis Hackett; step-daughter Jackie Carroll and step-son Jim Doeden.
Visitation will be Thursday at Polo Family Funeral Home, 110 E. Dixon St. from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. with a 10:00 a.m. graveside service at Farimount Cemetery, Polo.
