Karen S. Sterenberg, 59, of Sterling, passed away Thursday May 08, 2025, at CGH Medical Center in Sterling.
Karen was born, September 7, 1965, in Dixon, Illinois, the daughter of Lauren and Carolyn (Huyett) Sterenberg. Karen worked for Kable News in Mt. Morris for 26 years until closing then went to work with HALO Branded Solutions in Sterling. She enjoyed singing in the praise band at her church. Karen sang for many years with the KMC Trio in Polo. She did cross stitch, needle point, painted anything with her hands. Karen was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include mother Carolyn; sister Jean (Bobby) Goza of Rockford, IL; brother Robert (Tami) Sterenberg of Polo, IL; aunt Patricia Huyett; nieces and nephews Justin, Taylor, Alex and Trevor Sterenberg; special friends Jennifer Holloway and Cayla Harvey; special puppy companions Lily and Teddy.
She was preceded in death by her father Lauren.
Memorial visitation will be Wednesday, May 14, 2025 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Bethel Evangelical Congregational Church at 131 N. Court, Dixon, IL. Memorial service will be Thursday May 15, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. with visitation one hour prior also at the church. Burial will be at Fairmount Cemetery in Polo at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Bethel Evangelical Congregational Church of Dixon.
