Keith Paul Nesemeier, 81, of Polo, passed away Thursday, Feb. 1, 2018, at Serenity Hospice and Home. Keith was born October 4, 1936 in Freeport, the son of Paul Kenneth and Bernice Irma (Diehl) Nesemeier. He worked in Graphic Arts and specialized in Photo Engraving for Kable Printing prior to the strike. Once on strike Keith went to work at the Byron Nuclear Plant to support the family, pouring concrete. He then accepted a position with the World Color Press in Salem, IL. Getting adventurous he moved to Kersey Colorado where he worked with the Rocky Mountain News until his retirement. Keith was a member of the Polo Church of the Brethren and Mt. Morris Moose Lodge. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, church family and friends. Wherever he lived Keith enjoyed his hobby, farming. Keith was a veteran of US Army serving from 1957 to 1959 as a Clerk and honorably serving with the Color Guard.
Survivors include loving companion Brenda Nevenhoven; mother of his children Beverly Kearns; daughter Kristin Dawn Camp of Davis Junction; sons William “Bill” Keith (Lorrie) Nesemeier of Oregon, IL, Kevin Paul (Crystal) Nesemeier of Byron and David Charles (Dina) Nesemeier of Ashton; sister Barbara Kay (Wayne) Stickel of Elkhardt, IN; 10 Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren
He was preceded in death by brother Billy Edward Nesemeier
Visitation will be Monday from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Brethren, Polo, with services following at 11:00. Burial will be at Lanark Cemetery, Lanark immediately following.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in his name.
