Laura L. Bopes, 53, of Polo, passed away Tuesday (October 27, 2015) at the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison, WI.
She was born on May 26, 1962 in Dixon, IL to Charles & Tina (Schultz) Weems.
She is survived by her significant other, Marty Rowe of Polo; daughters: Tanya (Keith Ebersole) of Dixon and Shirley (Jeremy) McGuire of Polo; 9 grandchildren, her mother, Tina Quimby of Mt. Morris; siblings: Charles “Pete” (Julie) Weems of MN, Scott (Joyce) Weems of MN., Jim (Becki) Weems of TN, Mark “Joe” (Laurie) Weems of MN, John (Tina) Weems of Dixon, Ed McKee of Mt. Morris, Rhenda (Joe) Stover of Milledgeville, Kris (Josh) Richards of AL, Clint Weems of MN, Josh Weems of MN, Matt Weems of MN and Susie (Jamie) Rhine of IN.
She was preceded in death by her father and a daughter, Christina Bopes-Nave.
She had been a radio operator for the Polo E.S.D.A., was a certified weather spotter and a certified lander for the React Helicopter.
She had attended Mt. Morris High School and was a Nascar fan.
A memorial visitation will be held from 10-11 AM Saturday at the Crossroads Community Church in Polo. Memorial services will be held at 11AM Saturday at the church Private inurnment will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Sterling at a later date.
The Polo Family Funeral Home in Polo is in charge of the arrangements.
