Lois Garman, 86, Polo, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 6, 2021, in Dixon.
Lois was born on September 16, 1935 in Cedarville, the daughter of Glen and Gladys (Chapin) Gift. She was united in marriage to Vic Garman on February 20th 1954. The two shared 65 years of marriage together raising a family and running an active farm.
Lois loved her many social activities such as bowling, card clubs, drinking coffee with friends, collecting antiques including many unique toothpick holders, baking, journaling and writing poetry. She also had a big love for animals, especially cats. Lois’s biggest joy and love was her children and grandchildren. She also cherished every family and holiday gathering. Survivors include son Don (Karen) Garman of Fitchburg, WI; daughter Vicki (Mike) Todd of Dixon. Granddaughters are Melanie Wyatt, Crystal (Dean) Yocum, Tiffany (Casey) Warren; great-grandchildren Zoie, Ava, Zeb, Ella, and Finley. She was survived by brothers Don Gift, Jerry (Kay) Gift, sisters Marilyn Wirtjes, Ruth (Bill) Scheider, Kathy Bardell and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vic, along with brothers Jim (Mabel) Gift, Robert and Richard Gift, Bill (Helene) Gift, sisters; Dorthy (Ken) Krahmer and Phyllis (Harold) Becker.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, October 15th 2021 at St. Marks Lutheran Church, 201 N Division Ave, Polo IL. Private graveside services will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in her name for local organizations.
