Lorraine M. Bowers, 104, of Polo, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at Dixon Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Dixon IL.
Lorraine was born, July 03, 1920, in Shannon, IL, the daughter of Alvin and Wynona (Becker) Rodermel. On December 10, 1938, in Moquoketa, IA, she was united in marriage to Robert C. Bowers. Lorraine was a great mother who enjoyed cooking for her family and was loved by all. She liked to travel with her sisters, laugh often even after living through the depression years. At the age of 70 she would be seen on the roof and cleaning gutters, nothing stopped her from doing, not even her age.
Survivors include daughters Rita Shipman and Roxi (Toy) Allen both of Dixon, IL; son Robert (Margaret) Bowers of Forreston, IL; sisters Barbara (Harlan) Martz of Lanark, IL; 7 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren and 8 Great-Great Grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert; 2 Grandchildren; 1 Great-Granddaughter; 3 Sisters; 1 Brother.
Visitation will be Tuesday, February 25, 2025 from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at Polo Family Funeral Home, 110 E. Dixon St, Polo. Graveside service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in Fairmount Cemetery in Polo.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Brookville United Methodist Church or Dixon Health Care Center.
