Mary Catherine Fox, 97, died October 21, 2015 at Polo Rehab and Health Care Center. She was born in Littlestown, PA, November 13, 1917, the daughter of Jacob H. and Katie M. Ditzler. She Married Ernest Fox on March 8, 1958.
Mary graduated from Polo Community High School and worked in several area businesses before becoming he bookkeeper at Daw’s Drugs from which she retired in 1985. She was well known in the community and respected by all who knew her. She was a long time member of the former First Christian Church in Polo.
Mary was predeceased by her parents, her husband of 45 years, 3 brothers, 3 sisters, 2 nephews and 2 nieces. She is survived by a sister, Jean (Vern) Cassens, Rockford; sisters-in-law Marian (Harold) Ditzler, Polo; and June Ludewig, Forreston; and several nephews and nieces. The family is grateful to the staff of Polo Rehab for the 9 years of loving care given to Mary and to Serenity Hospice for their compassionate care of Mary during her last few weeks of life.
Family and friends are invited to Fairmount Cemetery, Polo, for a graveside service on Thursday, October 29, at 1pm and for a time of fellowship and light refreshments at Pinecricker Café Banquet Room in Polo immediately following the service.
Memorial gifts may be made to Polo Public Library District, Polo Rehab and Health Care Center or Serenity Hospice and Home, Oregon.
