Paul M. Wooden, 77, of Polo, passed away Sunday, December 24, 2023, at Polo Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.
Paul was born June 20, 1946, in Princeton, Illinois, the son of Gilbert and Berniece (Howell) Wooden. On January 19, 1986 in Princeton, IL, he was united in marriage to Marcia (Standley) Lilley.
Paul and Marcia lived in Polo for over 30 years. Paul was a member of the Polo Lions Club, Boy Scout Leader and Cub Scout Leader. He drove a limo, a school bus driver and truck driver on long hauls. Paul enjoyed making banana bread, gardening and working with plants. He worked on his family farm, hosted foreign exchange students, an auctioneer and loved to work with his hands.
Survivors include wife Marcia; daughter Julie (RJ) Lindaas of Polo and step-daughter Pamela (Todd) Schertz of Tiskillwa, IL; sons Hank Wooden of Polo, John (Denise) Wooden of Milledgeville, IL, James Wooden of Union Grove, WI; step-son Patrick (Gaylynn) Lilley of Princeton, Paul (Gloria) Lilley of California; 14 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his Parents; infant daughter Donna; brothers Raymond, Dennis, David and Leslie Wooden.
Services will be held at a later date. Cremation rites will be accorded.
