Pauline V. Rowland, 100, of Polo, went to be with the Lord Friday, Nov. 4, 2016, at CGH Hospital, Sterling, with her family by her side. She was born November 12, 1915, in rural Polo, the daughter of David F. and Viola I. (Miller) Rebuck. On September 19, 1948, in Ashton, she was united in marriage to Lloyd C. Rowland (he preceded her on March 31, 1977). Pauline was a longtime member of First Church of the Open Bible, Polo and enjoyed people stopping by her home for coffee and cookies. Pauline was a homemaker and caretaker, she cared for loved ones in need with not a complaint. Her house and heart were open to all!
Survivors include daughter Sandra Oswalt of Franklin Grove; sons Eldon (Beatrice Martinson) Travis Jr. of Dixon and Earl (Joan) Travis-Rowland of Polo; grandchildren Dan (Kelly) Travis, Jody Travis, Dr. Michael Travis, Heather Jones, Carol (Rod Klein) Donaldson, Nancy (Dave Miller) Rowland, David (Sarah) Rowland, Jennifer (Shad) Hewitt; 11 Great Grandchildren; 8 Great-Great Grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by a son Larry Travis and daughter-in-law Toni Travis; son-in-law Brian Oswalt; grandson Richard Travis; sister Gladys Kjederquist; brothers LeRoy and Earl Rebuck.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2016 from 9:30-11:00 a.m. at Polo Family Funeral Home, 110 E. Dixon St., Polo, until service time of 11:00. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Garden, Dixon. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in her name.
